Focus on LAW
William J. (Paz) Haynes, III concentrates his practice in the area of general business law. Mr. Haynes also has experience in the areas of labor and employment, bankruptcy law, administrative law and commercial litigation.
In the course of his practice, Mr. Haynes has represented manufacturers, insurers, lending institutions, small businesses and individuals in a variety of matters. Mr. Haynes recently represented Dr. Raymond Richardson, an intervenor plaintiff, in the landmark civil rights case Rita Sanders Geier v. Bredesen. He is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Nashville Bar Association and their Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Haynes also served as President of the Napier-Looby Bar Association (2002-03) and Secretary of the Tennessee Bar Association (2006-07).
In 2008, Mr. Haynes was named to the Nashville Business Journal's "Best of the Bar" for his expertise in commercial litigation. He has also been named to numerous boards over the last several years, including the Nashville Exchange Club, YMCA Community Action Project (Y-CAP) (1999-2000), Nashville Diversity in Dialogue (DID!) and Father Ryan High School. Mr. Haynes was a member of the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court, and is an alumnus of the Young Leaders Council. Mr. Haynes has spoken at seminars on employment law and professional ethics for the Tennessee Bar Association, trial practices, and other civic and professional organizations.
A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Haynes received his Bachelor of Arts from The Johns Hopkins University in 1992. He earned his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1995. From 1995 to 1996, Mr. Haynes was a law clerk for the Honorable Nathaniel R. Jones (United States Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit).
