Bone Law Attorney Loren Mulraine Participates in a Symposium with the U.S. Copyright Office
Loren Mulraine, Bone McAllester Norton counsel and faculty professor and advisor for the Entertainment Law Journal at Belmont, recently partnered with the U.S. Copyright Office to put on a symposium on “Songwriting and the Law: What Attorneys, Songwriters and Publishers Need to Know about the Music Modernization Act.”
The virtual event consisted of three panels covering a variety of topics under the scope of copyrighting and the music industry. Loren discussed how recent changes to copyright law, the MMA and the MLC’s creation will affect different aspects of the legal profession. The event ended with a keynote speech given by Regan Smith, the U.S. Copyright Office General Counsel and Associate Register of Copyrights, who provided an update from the Copyright Office, next steps for the MMA and potential policy issues that could affect the industry in the years to come.
