Bone McAllester Norton Founder Charles W. Bone Featured in NBJ Article About Pursuing Freedom for Cyntoia Brown
When Charles W. Bone, founder and chairman of Bone McAllester Norton, watched a documentary about Cyntoia Brown in April 2010, he was appalled by how she was treated in a court of law.
“I was really stunned by the fact that, even though she was the victim, she became the convicted felon and was sent to prison … I just didn’t think that was what America was all about,” Bone said. For the past decade, he worked on Cyntoia’s case pro bono, until she was eventually granted clemency in 2019, on the 15th anniversary of her time in prison.
