Charles W. Bone Addresses End Slavery Tennessee’s Brentwood Chapter
Recently, Bone McAllester Norton founder and chairman Charles W. Bone was the featured speaker at the End Slavery Tennessee “A Voice for the Oppressed” benefit dinner. Nearly 50 people gathered at the Brentwood Country Club to hear Bone’s story about representing Cyntoia Brown.
Bone represented Brown in her bid for clemency after an original conviction of first-degree murder and life imprisonment. After 15 years served, and nearly 10 years of work by her pro bono legal team, Brown was released on parole in August of this year by the decision of Governor Haslam when he granted clemency for Brown.
End Slavery Tennessee’s mission is to promote the healing of human trafficking survivors and strategically confront slavery in our state with a vision of creating a slave-free Tennessee.
