Zralek AttorneyBone McAllester Norton attorney Stephen Zralek is speaking on the panel “Breaking Up is Hard to Do” at AMERICANAFEST: The Americana Music Festival & Conference on Sept. 12. The 19th annual gathering brings together legendary artists, rising stars, fans and industry vets to Nashville for six days of music and education.

Zralek, Hearst Magazines attorney Nick Beaudoing and singer-songwriter Nora Jane Struthers (previously of the band Bearfoot) will discuss legal issues such as ownership of the masters, debts and copyrights that can follow a band breakup. Additionally, the panel will offer performing artists practical advice about striking out on their own. CLE credit will be available.

A Music City native, Zralek has practiced law since 1997 and clients continue to seek his advice, tenacity and engaging approach for litigation and protecting their creativity by resolving intellectual property, entertainment and business disputes.

Stephanie Taylor Discussed Independent Record Deals at the Americana Music Festival

Nashville entertainment attorney Stephanie R. Taylor, head of Bone McAllester Norton’s entertainment law practice, served as a panelist at last week’s Americana Music Festival’s conference. The American Bar Association’s Entertainment Law Division presented “Independent Means” for the conference, where Taylor and other panelists discussed the ins and outs of record labels for non-signed artists in genres like Americana, Roots, Alt-Country and Bluegrass. Taylor specifically highlighted common pitfalls found in record deals, shedding light on  how attorneys can help these artists avoid them.

Stephen Zralek Will Discuss Current Topics in Entertainment Litigation at this Month’s Americana Music Festival & Conference
