Whole Foods Germantown Opens

Today marks the opening of the new Whole Foods in Germantown, a suburb of Memphis, Tenn. Bone McAllester Norton’s Alcoholic Beverage Law team provided the licensing for the store. Among favorite features are La Creperie, which offers sweet and savory crepes; a charcuterie carve; an upstairs loft; and Kei Jei Kitchens, which serves Japanese/Korean fusion dishes.

Liquor Attorneys Working to Open Spirits Distillery and Tasting Room in Memphis

Bone McAllester Norton’s Alcoholic Beverage Law team is working to secure the appropriate licensing for D. Canale & Co., who announced its plans to build and open a spirits distillery and tasting room in downtown Memphis. The nearly 55,000 square-foot facility, housed in a 1920s-era warehouse at 301 S. Front St., will produce and bottle premium distilled spirits. The $5 million project, named Old Dominick, will open next fall.

Heritage Financial Group Combines with Kemmons Wilson Insurance Group

Bone McAllester Norton attorneys Rick Nickels and Charles W. Bone recently represented Nashville-based Heritage Financial Group LLC in a merger-like transaction with Memphis-based Kemmons Wilson Insurance Group, expanding Heritage Financial Group’s employee benefits and insurance services across the country. Steve Botts continues as president of HFG, with all HFG personnel remaining. HFG’s main office will remain in the Nashville area with an additional office in Memphis. As the employee benefits marketplace has continued to change and evolve, the merger will provide a greater range of benefits and insurance offerings from the now-combined independent brokerage firm, Botts said.

Bonelaw’s Alcoholic Beverage Law Group Helps Open Two High-End Restaurants in Memphis

Bone McAllester Norton’s Alcoholic Beverage Law group, headed by William T. Cheek III, recently worked with Darden Restaurants, Inc. on the opening of two of its hottest high-end restaurants in Memphis, Tennessee. Seasons 52, located at 6085 Poplar Ave., opened Jan. 30, and The Capital Grille, located at 6065 Poplar Ave., opened yesterday. Their openings represent the most expensive restaurant space in Memphis, according to WHBQ-TV. The East Memphis restaurants are expected to gross more than $6 million a year. Seasons 52 focuses on healthy, seasonal menus, while Capital Grille features steak and seafood.
