Bone McAllester Norton’s Real Estate practice group represents a diverse set of real estate clients, including nationwide and regional companies, REITs, closely-held companies and individuals. Our real estate clients are involved in an array of ventures, from single-site acquisitions and dispositions to nationwide programmatic development projects and ongoing lease administration.
Because we are engaged in a full spectrum of real estate transactions for our clients, we are able to handle detailed and complex matters in an efficient and cost-sensitive way. We also deal with all types of real estate litigation, in consultation with our firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

Acquisitions and Dispositions
We assist clients purchasing and selling commercial real estate with nearly all uses: office buildings (including medical office buildings and complexes), residential multifamily complexes, single-family residential subdivisions, shopping centers, entertainment and recreation facilities, hotels, manufacturing and industrial facilities, and for-development parcels. We assist owner-occupiers and individual investors and REITs and we serve as title agent for two national title insurance companies, enabing us to quickly obtain title searches and issue title policies for our clients, as needed.
Development and Incentives
Our real estate attorneys represent developers of commercial real estate for office, medical, retail, entertainment and recreation, hotel, residential, and municipal use. We have clients who develop projects for single-purpose uses and multiple users and who sponsor programmatic development projects for investment. A number of our developer clients also manage their completed buildings, and we assist with management issues, as well as planning and zoning matters, permitting, other land use matters and environmental issues that arise before and during development. We have represented more than one major city in the planning and development of a convention center. Our real estate team also has experience advising on development incentives, including tax increment financing and industrial development board programs.
We represent landlords and tenants in a range of leasing transactions including ground leases, build-to-suit leases, retail leases, office leases, airport leases, warehouse and industrial leases, manufacturing facility leases and restaurant leases, all on either a gross or net basis. Our team assists with lease drafting and negotiation as well as supporting our landlord clients with lease enforcement.
Property Owner Associations
The Real Estate practice group represents property owner associations in connection with condominium development and other residential and commercial multi-user developments. Representation includes preparation of condominium master deeds; declarations of conditions, covenants, and/or restrictions; reciprocal easement agreements; and association formation documents and advising associations on matters of day-to-day governance.
Real Estate Dispute Resolution
The attorneys at Bone McAllester Norton handle a myriad of real estate disputes. Our experience includes landlord/tenant disputes, issues related to rights of first refusal, easement and boundary disputes, ownership disputes and claims for specific performance and other contract default matters. Our expertise has allowed for resolution of such disputes without litigation, but we regularly appear in federal and state court on matters for our real estate clients. Our goal is to resolve any dispute as beneficially as possible, with as little expenditure of money and time possible.
